Embark on an unforgettable freediving Belize trip through Mexico and Central America! We’ll take you to some amazing Mexican sinkholes and the most beautiful reef of Belize in this seven days trip. It will be a fun journey including freediving and the discovery of the Belizean culture. The highlight of this expedition is the famous Blue Hole of Belize and his great conditions for freediving. We will also take you to the best reefs of the country!

Come to observe healthy reef with corals, rays and sharks of the Caribbean Sea! On our way to Belize, we will enjoy some of the best cenotes of the Riviera Maya.

itinerary day by day

Day 1
  • Meeting at Pranamaya for general briefing and meet all the members of the trip.
  • Night in Playa del Carmen
  • Optional: Whalesharks excursion before meeting (extra cost)
Day 2
  • Early departure to Bacalar in the South of Mexico to dive in the famous cenote Azul.
  • We will stay near Chetumal for the night.

 

Day 3
  • Be part of the first freedivers to dive the recently discovered blue hole (Taam Ja ́) in the Bay of Chetumal. Ready to see the deepest blue hole in the world ?
  • We will spend again the night in the same hotel near Chetumal.

 

Day 4
  • Time to take the ferry to cross to Belize and start with an easy reef dive in the Carribean Sea.
  • Diner and night in San Pedro
Day 5
  • We will spend the full day exploring San Pedro ́s reefs!
  • In the morning we will freedive “Hol Chan Reef” & the Shark alley. After lunch in Caye Caulker, we will go looking for some cute manatees.
  • Diner & night in San Pedro.

 

Day 6
  • We will dedicate this day to go freediving at the famous “Blue Hole”.
  • After lunch on the boat we will be freediving the reef.
  • Dinner & Night in San Pedro.

 

Day 7
  • We will spend half day freediving on local reefs with healthy corals, sharks…
  • … or visiting San Pedro where you will be able to enjoy the Carribean lifestyle.
Day 8
  • Time to head back to Mexico and Playa del Carmen.
  • On the way we will visit Angelita and enjoy more dive to finish this trip in this epic cenote.
Day 9
  • Departure day.

SPECIFIC DETAILS

  • Pre requisite: be 18 years old of age or older and being a certified freediver (Aida 2 or similar minimum).
  • Max group size: 8 people.
  • Valid passport needed and visa for Belize if necessary
  • Rental equipment available (mask, snorkel, fins, wetsuit, weightbelt, and weights).
  • The schedule may change depending on weather and local legislation.
  • There is no guarantee to find the wildlife.
  • We recommend to purchase DAN insurance for your trip and for anytime you go freediving.
  • Seasickness medication recommended for boat days.
  • Respect for nature is mandatory at all time.
  • We recommend to bring eco-friendly sun screen and anti-mosquitos product.
  • Other items needed: cap, sunglasses, long sleeves tee-shirt,windbreaker,waterbottle (no sunscreens is permitted before getting in the water).
  • Plugs are 110 volt – Europeans will need an adaptor.

Julien is the founder and owner of Freediving Travelers Club, PranaMaya Freediving, and Azul Freediving Challenge. He’s been a certified AIDA Freediving Instructor Trainer for many years and enjoys sharing his love for the underwater world with others. Embarking on the FTC project felt like the next logical step for Julien. Driven by his passion for freediving and adventure, he envisioned a platform where he could connect with like-minded individuals and introduce them to the wonders of the underwater world. With a desire to share his favorite dive sites and create meaningful experiences, Julien set out to establish FTC, aiming to cultivate a community of fellow explorers eager to make lasting memories together holding our breath.
